~The Dynamics of Hearing from God. John 10:2-5RSV ...... But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep . To him the gatekeeper Opens, the sheep HEAR his Voice and he CALLS his own sheep by NAME and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them and the sheep FOLLOW him for they KNOW his Voice. A stranger they will not follow, but they will FLEE from him. For they donot know the voice of the strangers.. * Hearing from God is a manifestation of our relationship with him. * God still speaks to his children today. * The Holy spirit helps us in hearing from God the Father. i.e he declears the mind of God to us. Hearing from God is a Spiritual affair , not physical issue. Many christians today want to hear from God with their Physical ears but, ends up in total disappointment. * We relate to the physical realm with our body(senses, ear inclusive) * We relate to the Intellectual realm with our Soul( mind, reason) * We relate to the Spiritual Realm with our Spirit( the inner man) God is in the Spiritual realm. God is a spirit and those who worship him must worship him in Spirit and in truth. WAYS OF HEARING FROM GOD * Through the Word of God - Ps119:105 * Through Visions and Dreams- Job33:14-16 * Through the inward still small Voice( our spirit)- Rom9:1 through the authoritative Voice of the Holy Spirit -1Sam 3 ( the Call of small) DISCERNING OF VOICES * The Voice of the Holy Spirit cannot lie (He is the spirit of truth) * The Voice of the Holy Spirit Does not enslave, he brings freedom and Peace ( Spirit of Peace). * The Voice of the Holy Spirit speaks in line with the Word of God.( does not contradict God's commandment), does not support evil. * God's Voice reveals and enlightens our heart PURPOSE OF HEARING FROM GOD * TO know his will (his mind or direction about events) * To fulfil your destiny in life * To grow in His presence * To be fruitful i.e to win soul * To manifest spiritual gifts * To edify the Church and your family * Not to led asstray * To be successful in life. And so on. ** God want to be part of our daily lives. So,let us learn to send time with him daily. We should seek him first, and not what he can give.
